Welcome to the Camille Theme Demo. The Camille Theme is built on the Genesis Framework for those who want a refined and timeless brand. Whether you want to blog, display your creativity, or sell your masterpieces, the Camille Theme will give you a polished look.
Header & Navigation
The header area contains a small navigation bar with a place for your Simple Social Icons on the left. On the right, you can place menu items to posts, pages, or other links. To the very right, you’ll find an animated search form.
The site header is styled for a logo or a text title. There is a menu to the left and to the right of the site title area. These menu items are styled for two levels. The entire header is sticky when your visitor scrolls, allowing them easy navigation through your site. Upon scroll, the header also shrinks to allow more visible content room.
The front page features a slider that can display images with an overlay to highlight a welcome message or featured product. Following the slider are 5 flexible widget areas that can hold nearly as many widgets as you could want to place in them. The demo shows the Front Page 1 area with 2 Genesis Featured Page widgets displaying links to the About page and the Shop page, with a Custom HTML widget introduction. The Front Page 2 area contains 3 Custom HTML widgets outlining your services or features. The Front Page 3 area contains a Featured Products widget to display 3 products. The Front Page 4 area shows 3 Portfolio Items with a link to the Portfolio Page. The Front Page 5 area has Testimonial Rotator widget above a Genesis eNews signup form. All of these featured widget areas are styled for multiple widgets making it completely customizable to your needs.
Below the front page featured widget areas is your blog displayed with a full image post, then two rows of 2 smaller posts. The sidebar is visible in this area. You can also choose NOT to display this on your homepage if you wish.
The footer contains 3 widget areas that can be used as in the demo or to display any other widgets. Under the widget areas, you’ll find a full-width Instagram Bar that will display your 8 most recent Instagram posts. Under the Instagram Bar, to the left is a widget area that can be used to display a small menu of links or site pages. To the right are the Site copyright and credits.
Any of these widget areas will disappear if no widgets are placed in them allowing you to completely customize your front page.
As with all themes from Cheerful Themes, the theme is mobile responsive. No matter what device your visitors use to visit your site, it will look great and be easy to navigate. You can see that in action here. Be sure to click on the left-hand side to see the theme from multiple devices. Here is another place.
An important but sometimes overlooked aspect of web design is accessibility for users with disabilities. All of the Cheerful Themes are built to be accessible to all users.
The Camille Theme is styled for WooCommerce, allowing you the option of having a store right on your site.
The colors are completely customizable in the WordPress Customizer allowing you to match your brand.
Styled for Popular Plugins
The Camille Theme is styled for several popular plugins to meet a wide range of needs. You’ll find styling for Genesis eNews Extended, Genesis Portfolio Pro, Genesis Simple Share, Instagram Feed, Modula Image Gallery, Ninja Forms, Portfolio Post Type, Soliloquy Lite, Simple Social Icons, Social Warfare, Testimonial Rotator, WC Shortcodes, WooCommerce, and WP Recipe Maker.
Custom Archive Page Template
The Custom Archive Page Template allows you to display your posts grouped first by Year, then Month. This is another way to help your readers find the posts they are looking for (or didn’t even know they were looking for!).
Blog Page vs. Custom Blog Page Template
The Camille Theme includes a Custom Blog Page Template that is a bit more sophisticated. Using the “normal” blog page template, you are able to choose multiple options for displaying your posts. See this article for all the variations possible.
Using the Custom Blog Page Template creates a blog display page with a widget area at the top for showing off the 3 most recent posts or most popular posts or whichever 3 posts you’d like. The rest of the blog posts will display is a grid of 1 large post with 4 smaller posts underneath as shown in the demo.
Custom Category Page Template
The Custom Category Page Template shows a grid of posts from a particular category. The template includes the ability to write a “Category Introduction” and include a way to further refine the category search to subcategories. This is terrific for SEO and search purposes. If your reader is interested in a particular topic, the ability to quickly scan posts from that topic will be invaluable!
Category Index Page Template
The Category Index Page Template is yet another way to display posts from specific categories. Using the Category Index Page Template allows you to show multiple categories on the same page while listing the 3 most recent posts and the link to view all from that category. You can choose to show the 3 posts from each category with either a square image or a horizontal image.
Landing Page Template
The Landing Page Template is a distraction-free page on your site to propel your reader to a specific action. Most articles recommend using such “distraction-free” pages to increase the likelihood your visitor will complete the action you want them to take.
Portfolio Page Template
The Portfolio Page Template is one of my favorites! I love the animation and the ability to filter portfolio posts per category. This template can be used as a portfolio or to display simple blog posts in the same way. And you don’t need to be a photographer or graphic designer to need a portfolio. Almost anything you create can be displayed this way to establish you as an expert and act as your resume. The Portfolio Introduction at the top of the top is completely optional and customizable. It’s YOUR page!
Social Page Template
The Social Page Template is created as an alternative to Link-tree or other similar services. On Instagram, Pinterest, or other social media profiles, there is very limited room for information about you and links to the things you most want to be seen. This template gives you a free (well, it’s already there with your website) place to send your Instagram, etc. visitors so that they can see what you are all about!
Why SO MANY options??
I’m a big believer in having options. You do not need to use all of these features, or even most of them. You can start basic and as you grow and change, you’ll find that these additional options will suit you better. Or, some may suit you less. But, having OPTIONS, you don’t have to buy a whole new theme or higher a developer when you discover a need for a Portfolio or realize that your visitors desperately need to see your posts listed in categories. All Cheerful Themes are designed to grow with you.
Everything you need to be successful in blogging and business is included in the Camille Theme! As with all Cheerful Themes, complete documentation on how to set up and use your new theme is included.
